3 Ways to Get Rid of Blackheads Fast

Michelle August 31, 2011 9

Last Friday I shared 3 non-medicinal ways you can prevent blackheads from forming. But what happens when you’ve done what you know to do and you get a blackhead anyway? Simple. Stay indoors til it’s gone.  OK, just kidding.

Here are 3 ways you can get rid of blackheads:

  1. Use blackhead removal tools –Squeezing blackheads isn’t an option but using special tools to extract them is. If you squeeze, it can lead to pain and hyperpigmentation or blemishes on your face. You can visit an esthetician to get extractions done but you can also find blackhead extractors just about anywhere.

      1. Use pore cleansing strips – Blackheads typically appear in or around the oily T-zone area. Using pore cleansing strips can help you pull oil, bacteria and blackheads that are forming from your skin’s pores. These strips can be used regularly to keep your pores clean.

    1. Use creams or ointments with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid - Yes, this is medicinal but when you’re dealing with a serious case of blackheads, would you rather just wait it out?  Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid work to kill the germs and bacteria that lead to acne.

Now you have 6 ways to deal with blackheads. 3 that are preventive and the 3 I just shared that are therapeutic. Something’s bound to work for ya!

What do you think?

I never knew blackhead removal tools existed. It is so easy to just squeeze with your fingers, but this can lead to other issues. I think these are good ways to get rid of blackheads.

Thanks Evelyn :-) . Usuually, the estheticians have them but you certainly buy them. The only thing is if you don’t know what you are doing, you can cause more damage through scarring.

This is good advice. I haven’t tried a tool but looks pretty good for preventing scarring of face. I am using Proactive blemish treatment.

How’s Proactiv working for you? I tried it years ago and it left my skin all wrinkly. I don’t like their products one bit.

Why don’t we try some homemade remedies they are more beneficial than chemical products like Grind orange peel with some water to a paste and apply on affected areas?

That’s certainly an option but remember, natural remedies don’t work for everyone. And some women prefer pharmaceutical grade products.
