It’s very easily to become overwhelmed with all of the skin care products available on the market. What do you need? What’s good to use? What’s optional for use? There’s Cleansers, BB Creams vs. CC Creams, Anti-wrinkle Products, Eye Creams and more.
What you use to care for your skin may change as your skin goes through the aging process but it may take years before you change your mainstays once you figure out what they are.
One of the benefits of being a beauty blogger is you get to try a lot of beauty products. I’ve tried a number of skin care products and after much trial and error, there are just certain products that are staples for my skin. Here are the five I don’t ever want to be without:
Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Foaming Facial Wash – I’ve been through many brands of facial cleansers and this is by far the best one for my skin. It’s all natural and leaves my face deeply clean but not stripped of its natural oils. It also helps clear up minor break outs rather quickly. It’s available at most drug store chains and is very inexpensive.
Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer – This is a super duper multitasking face primer. It has 5 uses: Smooths, Resurfaces, Brightens, Mattifies and Protects your skin. I apply this primer when I don’t feel like or have time to wear make up. The mattifying effect makes it appear that I have on a natural looking foundation.
Atopalm Daytime Undermakeup Moisture Cream – This is one of the best moisturizers I’ve ever used. It’s non-greasy and also doubles as a face primer when applied under makeup. It’s also very inexpensive (available at Target)
Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm – This lip balm is a new fave of mine. It leaves my lips so soft and they get softer and smoother each day. (just ask my husband ) The tinted colors that they come in also give you a more made up look while keeping it natural looking. I’m currently wearing either the Berry or Oh Orange.
