brazilian peel clear

About 2 months ago I received the Brazilian Peel Clear kit to review.  Before I share my opinion of this acne kit, a few facts:

  • Kit includes: 4 Brazilian Peel Clear weekly acne peel applications and a jar of 30 Acne Control Booster Pads
  • Retails for anywhere from $60-$90
  • What the manufacturer says about it:

The Brazilian Peel Clear Kit is the science of clear skin and an antidote to acne. This treatment program addresses acne concerns while simultaneously protecting the skin from irritation, over-drying, and free radicals that contribute to aging.

I followed the instructions for use to the letter. After cleansing every day except on the day I used the skin peel, I wiped the acne control booster pad across my face. On the day that I used the skin peel, I did not use the pad.

To use this skin peel, you have to break open a double syringe, and mix the medication from the 2 tubes in the palm of your hand.  When you begin mixing the acne treatment in the palm of your hand with your finger, the solution heats up and a slight burning is experienced.

The only positive thing I experienced was my skin felt stimulated. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend the peel. Especially not for sensitive skin. It was a bit harsh, unlike other acne treatments I’ve tried. I actually endured a little burning the first application and was skeptical to do the peel again. The 2nd and 3rd times, my skin didn’t burn.

I did not notice any changes in my skin. Actually, my jawline broke out.

I wanted to give this product a fair shot but I have to say I was not pleased with it. Hence, the 2.5 rating. It just was not as effective on my skin as I had hoped or expected it to be.

When trying anti-acne products and products in general, keep in mind that what works for one won’t necessarily work for you. The Brazilian Peel received mostly high ratings on Sephora’s website (the product is no longer available at Sephora online but the ratings are still there). It also received pretty high ratings on Amazon.

I did not agree with the ratings where my skin was concerned and was happy that I didn’t actually spend money for the product.

Perhaps, you’ll have or have had different results.

I used the one from Advance Home Actives last summer and it worked all right for me. Granted, I didn’t have the Acne Control Booster pads. I think if I used that and the peel it would’ve been too much.

you know MJ, I don’t think that it was too much product. It apparently works for a lot of people. It just didn’t work for me. You may have gotten even better results with the pads. Who knows.

I am skeptical about ratings on Amazon and retail sites. I’ve heard some companies PAY people to submit good ratings. How UNETHICAL is that? I used the Brazillian Peel a year ago and my skin didn’t look any different. But I use an at home peel pretty frequently.

i never actually thought of that. it’s very unethical but ppl do anything for money.

so i’m not the only one that noticed little to nothing from using this peel.

if your acne is really bothersome, honestly i’d go for a prescription. I’m using Ziana and am noticing great improvement on my jawline
