Black skin like natural hair is ver-sa-tile! We can wear almost any color with our skin tone.
Of course, depending on the depth of your skin’s tone you’ll need to choose different shades of color to compliment your particular complexion.
I’m a huge fan of trying different colors. Especially now that it’s spring time.
Brown skin in particular can be highlighted with many colors that bring out the beauty of the brownness. Colors like the blue you see on Brandy in addition to:
- Purple – all shades
- Mustard Yellow
- Turquoise
- Red
- Emerald
I am a deep shade of brown. Brown ladies in various shades can wear almost any color.
Excuse my shotty paint job but you get the point.
Regardless of your shade of brown, you should be able to easily match a shade of one of these colors with your skin tone. That’s the beauty of brown skin. And when I say brown I mean ALL shades of brown from light to deep.

I love shades of medium to deep purple on my eyes. The purple color family works very well with my complexion and enhances my eye color, I think.

I really like the colors but am such a chicken when trying them on. I really like deep rose colors.
Miche’al you could experiment with the colors without consequence of cost by going to those makeup counters in places like Macy’s. Have them test different shades on your skin. If you don’t like, you can always wash it off. No harm no foul

Yesssss! For a long time I thought brown women couldn’t wear bright eyeshadows like blue and green etc., but it all comes down to how it is applied.
