Your Diet – Fitness and Fun Day 5

Today let’s talk about how to incorporate our diets into getting fit, while you guess it…..having fun!

For me, there are a couple of things that I need to have fun while getting fit:

* Being able to enjoy the foods I like
* Flexibility

Who says diets have to be boring? There’s so much that you can do in order to stay on track with fitness as far as eating is concerned:

Allow yourself a cheat day

Track your food intake each day but don’t be so rigid that you deprive yourself. One of the things I’ve learned from Weight Watchers is that you have to eat to live but deprivation only sets you up for failure. Therefore, allow yourself one day a week to enjoy a couple of your not so wholesome
food choices. Over time, you’ll want them less often because the other 6 days of the week you’ll be training your body to consume healthier foods.

Try new seasonings

Trying new things can be fun. I remember when I first started learning to season my food with spices other than salt and pepper LOL! Thyme in eggs? Really, it’s good!

Experiment with Vegan

diet

Check out this article from my friend Evelyn. She is one of my favorite go to sources for healthier eating.

What suggestions do you have for improving your diet while still having fun?

NOTE: I am putting this 30 days of Fun and Fitness on hiatus. Apologies but I’m just not up to it right now. I found out my long time boss died yesterday of a heart attack. At this point, I’m very upset and not in a very fun mood.  I hope to resume this in a couple of weeks. Right now, I have to figure out how I’m going to go to work this week and never see one of my favorite leader’s ever again.

  1. Keeping you in prayer re: the passing of your boss, Michelle.

    Re: having fun with the diet, I challenge myself to try out new foods. Today I bought hemp seeds and sunflower seeds. By incorporating new things, I give my taste buds a workout and create healthy habits.
