Why does it feel like the summer is almost over as soon as it began? I don’t know about you but I feel like the fall is just right around the corner.
Thinking in line with that, my very seasonal brain has also realized that as one season changes to the next, there has to be a shift in the way we take care of our skin. Your skin care regimen may very well change as your skin’s needs change, my sister.
So, before we even go there let’s take a look at the many things that influence our skin. Some of these influencers are friends and others eventually wind up being foes.
We must know them well:
| Why: | ||
| Friends: | The Sun | Good ‘Ole Vitamin D |
| H20 | Keeps Skin Hydrated & Supple | |
| Air | Dries Skin Naturally | |
| Oil | Natural oils help balance moisture | |
| Vitamins & Minerals | Provide sun and wrinkle protection | |
| Foes: | The Sun | Can Cause skin cancer |
| Harsh Abrasives | Can dehydrate and age skin prematurely | |
| Oil | Excess can clog skin’s pores | |
| Sulfates | Can age skin and lead to skin diseases | |
| Parabens | Can cause certain cancers and sensitivity |
Of course, these are not the only variables that affect your skin but they are some of the most common. If you missed a recent post: One A Day for Healthy Skin and Nails, it sheds some additional light on one our friends.
