I’m all for being a Do-It-Yourself gal but there are just times when you need a little professional help when it comes to getting your skin in the best condition possible.
Seeing an esthetician is one of the best things you can do for your fine brown skin. That and checking out the skin care products from Blended Naturals (ta da da!)
If you’re struggling with your skin care routine, understanding your skin type or dealing with skin conditions, an esthetician can help provide some much needed direction.
What Is An Esthetician
Before I get into how you can find an esthetician in 10 minutes or less, here’s a brief description of what an esthetician is along with her roles and responsibilities:
Estheticians, otherwise known as skin care therapists are trained in the cosmetic treatment of the skin. They perform various cosmetic procedures including facials, body treatments, and waxing. Most estheticians offer a variety of specialty spa treatments. Estheticians work in doctor’s offices (dermatologists, specifically) at salons, day spas, and medi-spas.*
How to Find An Esthetician
There are 3 ways to find an esthetician in your area:
* Get a referral from friends or family – This is the best way to find an esthetician. When someone you know has experienced the treatment and care firsthand and are willing to give her a referral, that should put any concerns you may have to rest.
* Do an internet search for estheticians and include your city/state – For ex: “new york esthetician phone number”
* Search Associated Skin Care Professionals at http://www2.ascpskincare.com/Referral/ReferFinder.wws?Division=ASCP -This is a large database of skin care professionals that you can search through by location. Very helpful
Of course, once you find an esthetician in your area, you need to do your homework. Getting information from the referrals, and asking the esthetician certain questions will help you to find the best skin care professional to meet your skin’s needs.
You can still be a Do-It-Yourself gal when it comes to caring for your skin but seeing an esthetician can help you with deciding on the type of skin care products work best for your skin type. An esthetician is also qualified to provide you with a luxurious spa quality facial. Even if you are well versed in caring for your skin, seeing an esthetician can be a great pampering experience.

Thanks for sharing this Michelle! How ironic is it that I was just reading an article on total beauty online about finding an Esthetician? I’m gonna ask around my area as well as do a google search. I’m gonna check out your site for goodies as well

You’re welcome! I’m a Total Beauty member too and I missed that article. I think they bit off of me LOL
I haven’t had a facial in a long time. I would love to spend some time in a spa to relax and have a facial and maybe a massage.
