Pampering Yourself Day 27: Do A Wardrobe Haul

Michelle October 27, 2011 5

Can you tell I’m stuck on fashion this week? :-)

Indeed I am. We are wrapping up our 31 Days to Self Pampering in  just 3 short days.  In the beginning, I shared tips to pamper yourself by making yourself more beautiful, indulging in your divalicious ways and even getting you in tune with God.

These last few days let’s focus on some things you may not have considered.

Today’s self pampering tip is about redoing your wardrobe. This includes:

  • Tossing
  • Donating
  • Repairing
  • Shopping for the new (my favorite)
It’s easy to let your closet clutter up with clothes you can either not fit or are worn out.  That’s why it’s good to do a wardrobe overhaul at least twice a year. Some people do it seasonally. I say pick any day of the year to just do it. Overhauling your wardrobe any time you like is fun and gives you an excuse to treat yourself to some new pieces.

Alternatively, you can overhaul a room in your home. A couple months ago I redid my kitchen, living room and bedroom. Simply purchasing a new bedroom suit, throw pillows and curtains has given my home a breathe of fresh air. Plus, everything was in the tan/gold category. Now, I have color!

Good ideas. I do the closet overhaul twice yearly too, normally when the seasons change (fall, spring).

I like to do these closet hauls throughout the year so that I can keep on top of my growing wardrobe :-) I do want to buy more velvet hangers though. Love them!

I did just that as I was preparing to move and again once I actually arrived and surveyed my new closet space. I tossed a few things but I can’t shop right now so I am shopping my closet and it is forcing me to see outfits differently. I also love making over my living spaces! I love interior design almost as much as fashion.
