A couple of weeks ago I started the Protective Skin Series. The purpose is to share tips with you to protect your skin from damage. Today, let’s talk about how to protect your face by getting it cleaner.
For a gentle but thorough cleansing, your best tools are at your fingertips. As a matter of fact, they ARE your finger tips!
Sure there are expensive machines to help you get the job done but they aren’t all that necessary for a clean face. Besides, facial tools can have a tendency to irritate sensitive skin. Just stick with your fingers if you’re concerned about irritation.
Fingers First
Before beginning, wash your hands thoroughly before washing your face. I know it seems like common sense but its easily overlooked. Then, use the balls of your fingers to gently massage a cleanser for your skin type into your face.
Rinse and Repeat
Don’t stop at once. After rinsing your cleanser from your face, have another go at it. This is an especially important step if you have on makeup and are looking for a thorough cleanse. Wash your face, rinse and repeat for a cleaner face.
Exfoliate
Exfoliation should be done on your face once per week. The purpose for exfoliating as we know it is to remove dead skin cells. However, did you know that it also helps to make your face cleaner? Excess oil is removed by your exfoliant.
Day and Night
Wash your face morning and night. Even if you don’t wear makeup, cleansing your face at night is an important step in protecting your skin’s pores from clogging. Clogged pores from dirt can result in an acne outbreak.
These simple tips can help you to get a cleaner face every day of the week. The cleaner your face, the more radiant you’ll look.
