I’m constantly reminded of how much we as women of color (in general) neglect to properly care for and protect our skin. We tend to underestimate the importance of something as simple as having a consistent daily skin care regimen and wearing sunscreen every-single-day.
*********************************************************************************************
You can’t blame us really. The importance of things like wearing sunscreen and protecting your skin was not too high up on the list in many households growing up. Could it be that our earth’s ozone layer was a lot more effective and in tact than it is now? I don’t know.
What I do know is that there are a number of things that we could and should do to protect our skin from damage and premature aging. That’s why I’ll be kicking off a “Protective Skin Series” in just a short while. I’ll be covering things like:
* The Correct Way to Apply Under Eye Cream
* Is Your Sunscreen Sufficient?
* Why Gravity Is Not Your Skin’s Friend
and more….
BlogHer 2012
First, I have to make it through BlogHer12 here in New York! It starts in a little over 24 hours and I’m all ready to represent us natural curlies and of course this here blog, Radiant Brown Beauty.
I get the funny feeling that there will NOT be many women of color at BlogHer. That’s OK though. I love my Caucasian sisters but they are about to get a good look at how a woman of color rocks her natural hair and her swagalicious clothing attire. I was going to rep my new Natural and Loving it Tee but I think I still need to lose a few for it to fit exactly the way I want. Stay tuned for that.
If you’re not yet a subscriber to this blog, what are you waiting for?! I’ll be sharing tons of good stuff to help you look and feel your best so stay tuned. You can sub right ‘chea.

Michelle, I will be at BlogHer. We have to formally meet.

I was thinking about you! I’ll be arriving tonight around 5 to get my badge before the party. Email me your cell# and I’ll reply back with mine
Protecting your skin is very common to girls and I think that yoou should always add SPF in order to protect it from the rays of the sun.

absolutely. Guys should wear sunblock too but something tells me most men don’t find it that important
Aside from that most men wanted to get tanned. I rather say that natural color is beyond the beauty of anyone.
