Braidouts, twistouts. Both are hairstyles popular amongst natural gals and those transitioning to natural. The results vary with each and it’s up to you to figure out which looks best with your hair! (Keep reading. More pics below)

My attempt at a braid out in the middle of 2012. Not bad but not great

While I’ve almost perfected the twist out technique on my natural hair, I’ve always had inconsistent results doing a braid out. That’s why I haven’t done one in months. Because of results like this:

horrible braid out

Ugh and yuck!

Now, that I’m attaining more length I figured I’d give it a go and the results aren’t too shabby. Check out the video of me taking down the braids as well as some pics of my brand new 2013 Version of the Braidout (LOL):

What do you prefer? Braid outs or twist outs?

I know what you mean about hit or miss. I struggle with the two strand twist out. Sometimes it looks awesome and other times I feel like I wasted my time. I love the stretched out look of a braidout on a 4a, but on me it doesn’t look good. Your braidout is very nice.

I love both the braid outs and twist outs. I dont worry about how defined the come out as long as they arent frizzy.

that’s a good way of looking at it. my only qualm (aside from the frizz) is I don’t like stringy looking ends.

      thanks for commenting :)
