If you have been a reader for long, then you know I love Rimmel London makeup. Not only are they against testing products on animals, their beauty products come nicely pigmented.
I don’t wear a lot of makeup but when I do, I like for it to be easy to apply and in pretty colors that compliment my skin tone.
A couple of months ago I received a few products free to review from the line including:
- Rimmel London ScandalEyes Volume Flash Mascara (“MaxDensity Brush: 50% larger than Rimmel Volume Flash The Max, with 3 times more collagen and 3 times more keratin”)
- Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation SPF 18 (“Undetectable in any light”)
- Rimmel London Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch (“Gives an instant touch of radiance and illuminates the skin for a healthy glow”)
- Rimmel London Dark Brown Professional Eyebrow Pencil
Of the Rimmel London products I’ve tried in the past, their mascaras are my favorite. The Volume Flash Mascara clumps and lengthens my little eyelashes just right. The brow pencil has become one of my favorites and I’ve been using it in conjunction with a brow powder to fill in my brows daily.
The Match Perfection Foundation and Wake Me Up cream were not my cup of tea. It’s not because there’s anything wrong with the products. They were just not my shade so they left me looking ghostly. I created a video of me applying them but ditched it.
I thought the products would melt into my skin but they did not. The PR company that sent them to me didn’t ask what shade I would need, so there was a slight disconnect. That’s why you won’t see my usual rating system on this post. It wouldn’t be fair to assign a rating to the full suite of products when only 1/2 of them were for my shade.
If I had gone shopping and picked these two products out myself, I would have been able to choose the shades that were right for me. From what I have seen on the Rimmel London site, there are shades better suited for darker skin.
The Rimmel London brand is a drug store makeup brand. Each of these products can be picked up at Walmart, Walgreen’s, Target, CVS, Rite Aid or K-Mart. For more info direct from the manufacturer, visit The Official Rimmel London site.
