I’ve always wanted to get a seaweed body mask. It’s not only the ultimate in spa experiences, but it can do wonders for your skin. A seaweed body mask (also known as a wrap) helps you to lose a few inches in some flabby parts, if you know what I mean (stomache, butt, thighs).
While, I haven’t had an opportunity to get this spa treatment, I have done some research on it and plan to get one done really soon (before end of this summer!)
Seaweed Body Masks At The Spa
When you get a seaweed treatment at the spa, a pasty mix is smoothed all over your skin. You’re then wrapped in warm thermal sheets that you’ll marinate in for about an hour – more or less.
Most spas use seaweed algae ordered from the Brittany Coast of France. Companies who sell seaweed used for masks/wraps have to maintain the integrity of the seaweed. It’s the nutrients in them that help you look and feel wonderful.
If you have ever had a seaweed body mask at a spa, you experienced some serious relaxation. Seaweed is so much more useful than relaxing though.
Getting a wrap can stimulate your blood circulation and gently detoxify your skin. Before you get one though, make sure you drink LOTS of water. It will help with the entire proces of releasing toxins from your skin along with:
- Reducing the appearance of cellulite
- Tightening saggy skin
- Smoothing out stretch marks
- Releasing excess water (leading to weight loss…booya!)
How Seaweed Body Masks Work
So, how is it that seaweed can accomplish so much? Simple. The mask works by absorbing the vitamins and minerals that the seaweed contains naturally.
The minerals will absorb into the skin and the fatty deposits in your body will be broken up. The result is ooh so soft and smooth skin that glows.
