A Trip to The Dermatologist

Michelle July 19, 2012 14

Women often have problems with acne as they get older. It’s not just a teenager’s condition. Acne is often formed around the mouth, chin and jawline but it can also appear in the strangest places like on the eyelids. Or does it?

I recently experienced what appeared to be an acne breakout on my eyelids.  After a visit to the dermatologist I found out it wasn’t acne at all. Watch this video for the full story and to discover why you should see a dermatologist:

Stay tuned for my update on my visit to the esthetician next week.

I’ve got an ugly thingy on my eyelid too, Michelle. Hate it. It’s right on the edge of the eyelid, in the center. I had a similar one a year and a half ago and the eye doctor wanted to lance it. Ugh! I escaped, but it took weeks for it to go down. It’s called a chalazion. I’m doing hot compresses, but it hurts to put the wash rags on it. Longing for it to be gone!

oh no. sounds like a sty. mine didn’t hurt. well emotionally it did lol. it’s taken almost a month to go away. i let him lance mine since it wasn’t where my eyelash is. it didn’t hurt either. He numbed it with a cream – kind of like what they use to numb you at the dentist before giving you the real deal stuff (the needle)

I guess you are referring to a Chalazion, an infection or inflammation of some sorts. I had a similar condition some time ago and I had to use a certain ointment for treatment.
