This is a great tutorial but these things usually look easy when they’re not. lol So let’s hope its really as easy as it looks.

But what I wanted to know is my mom has dreadlocks do you have any tips or suggestions for taking care of that kind of hairstyle?

lol this is true. I remember when I was first learning how to corn row. I would get sooo frustrated because it was easier than it looked. Then, one day it clicked. Practice Practice.

For your mom, I’m not really an expert in dread care but I’d think that it’s similar to caring for natural hair in that she would avoid harsh chemical cleansers (sulfates). She could co wash here dreads and apply a leave in conditioner and seal her hair with an oil. I think she could also keep them nice and moisturized by putting some filtered water in a bottle and spritzing her hair daily, followed by sealing with a light oil

Great tutorial!! I prefer the overhanded method because, like you said, it looks more defined and I’m able to twist my hair much neater than doing it the other way.

Thanks MJ. I think I could have done a neater job with the underhanded method with more practice…similar to corn rows. took me forever to learn them!
