It may not be every woman’s goal to grow super long hair. But it is a goal of mine. I really want to see how far this God given mane of mine can grow. If that’s a goal of yours too, this new winter protective style of mine may appeal to you. Or not LOL.
In order reach longer lengths, you have to protect the ends of your hair like Fort Knox protects the United Stats’ gold reserves. OK maybe not that protective but you get the point
My New Protective Style
Soooo, what do you think? I have never worn a wig before. I’m a bit self conscious (don’t let the voguing fool you….I’m in the house LOL!).
The plan was to wash my hair weekly, stretch it in 4 twists with bands, seal in the moisture with my leave in conditioner and some Grapeseed Oil. I’d finish the pre-wig regimen by double sealing in the moisture by wrapping my ends in plastic and pinning up the twists so that I can rock my wig for a week before doing it all again.
I realize that while this is a cute wig, there’s no way I can wear it all winter. I have hand in hair syndrome LOL. I do plan to wear it once in a while but I will be sticking with twists and buns as my main protective styles.
I’m also participating in a Hair Growth Contest. You can read about it by clicking that link.
To help me reach my hair length goal, protective styling with constant moisturizing will help me retain length.
Keenly aware however of the importance of balancing the moisture with protein in the hair (click that link and you’ll see why), wash day will include a nice extended protein treatment session before I add back all that moisture.
That’s all folks.
What do you think of this wig (don’t worry about hurting my feelings. I like trying new things so I don’t care LOL)?

P.S. If you follow me on Instagram, you may be wondering how my recently acquired Curlformers fit into to the equation. Well, I’m not going to use them while protective styling by wearing this wig. I’m going to take a break for Valentine’s Day though and to them at that time. So, stay tuned for my review at that time.
